Chesney Nagel wins Girls Ribbon Roping

          Chesney Nagel placed first in the first performance in Sr. Girls  Ribbon Roping with a time of 6.81 and was second in the second performance with a time of 8.28 to win the average and saddle at the 4-H Youth Activity State Rodeo.  Over 600 boys and girls from ages 8-19 competed at Ft. Pierre, SD at the State Rodeo.  In the first performance Chesney placed first in ribbon roping, fourth in goats, and fourth in poles in the Sr. girls division.  Cheylee Nagel ended up sixth in the average in Jr. goat tying. Shayna Nagel competed well just missed out on the placing. 

Shayna and Chesney competed at the SDHSRA in barrels, poles, breakaway, goat tying, and team roping.  Shayna had tough luck at the state finals.

Chesney had a solid performance in the goat tying ending up in the third whole and qualifying for the National Rodeo.  Chesney was also Rookie of the Year.

Congratulations to Chesney - winning the 2nd Go Round in the Girls Breakaway at the National High School Rodeo - Wrangler Division in July at Gallup, New Mexico. Chesney won the go and had the fastest time of the rodeo with a 2.592.
